Welcome to my world of art; a world that I love and enjoy.
I am a self taught artist who takes great pleasure in creating my art, no matter what subject I undertake but I especially love to create portraits, human or animal because when a portrait is viewed it stirs the emotions and brings back happy memories, treasured memories and priceless memories. I spend many hours on each piece and love the challenge of recreating a likeness that sparkles with life, love and personality.
On my site you will see several animal portraits that have brought great joy to the owners. Tess lived in Cumbria and was the beloved pet of Mr. and Mrs. Strickland who asked me to do her portrait for them. They were thrilled with the finished portrait and Mrs. Strickland telephoned me in person to thank me for my work. 'It's Tess,' she told me. 'The likeness is remarkable. She looks at us daily from her pride of place in our living room. Thank you so very much.' Sadly Tess died not long after I had completed her portrait but her beloved owners still have their treasured memories and look at her image daily.
Sweet Amy is in the collection of Mike and Jenny Sibley. I had the pleasure of meeting this little dog in person and she is sweet. She continues to live with Mike and Jenny and all her animal friends in North Yorkshire.
Baloo, Lives in Sunderland with his devoted owners. I met Baloo at a local open air museum and what a Beautiful boy he is. His owners were thrilled with his portrait.
Mattie, Freyah, Imkie and Tabatha, along with all the other animals I have portrayed are all very special and very memorable.
I was also happy to be asked to donate my Donkey portrait to Jenny Sibley's cards which, along with others artist work, will be sold to help a donkey charity.
I have exhibited in several local exhibitions and have artwork in several countries including New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Ireland and several states of America as well as London where I have a my artwork in the collection of Prince Charles.
I am married and live with my husband in the North East of England. Snoozal, our Papillion, sits at my side while I work.
My favourite artists are Joseph Mallord William Turner (April 1775- December 19 1851) and Pierre-Joseph Rodoute (July 10 1759- June 19 1840).
I am happy to take on commission work and only require a large detailed photograph to work from so if you like my style please contact me to discuss your commissioned work. As my business cards say, 'Art is for life.'
A beautiful piece of artwork not only looks beautiful on your wall but is a treasure and an heirloom.
Best wishes,
Eysha.
